Dandenong Day Nursery is situated on Bunurong Country. Since our opening in 1976 we have been welcoming children and families into our community run early childhood service. Our experienced and long standing team of educators and teachers will assist you and your child to settle into our service to ensure a positive start to your child’s care and education journey.
We are committed in supporting your child to develop their love of learning.
From before birth, children are connected to family, community, culture and place. Children’s earliest development and learning takes place through these relationships.
Through play based learning, the children’s curriculum will reflect the importance of communication and language, early literacy, numeracy, physical active bodies, social and emotional wellbeing and respect for others.
Our learning environment will promote cultural awareness in all children, including a greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander ways of knowing and being. We provide opportunities for children to experience success and are motivated to accept new challenges through which to learn and grow.
Healthy eating and good nutrition have a major influence on children’s health and wellbeing. We also acknowledge that nutrition has a direct impact on children’s growth and development. All food is cooked on the premise by the centre cook. The menu includes Vegetarian and Halal.
Most of our team have been part of the service for many years. We have a dedicated group of experienced and dedicated early childhood educators and currently we have 3 bachelor early childhood staff and the service provides a separate 3 and 4 year old funded kindergarten program.
Our Centre has a pool of curriculum support educators which ensures consistency in the care and education of children. (Agencies are not used to cover staff absences).
We love to capture the learning that comes from children engaging in everyday experiences. The most amazing moments are captured when children are involved and interested in their own learning.
